Why and how I transitioned to Raw Vegan diet

Four years ago, I decided to change my diet. I had always considered myself a healthy person, but I guess most people do, depending on what they consider healthy.
This diet, which has become a lifestyle, changed everything I knew about health.
Raw veganism essentially means I only eat raw fruits and vegetables that haven't been cooked. The idea behind it is that heat kills most of the nutrients and vitamins in our food and also depletes the natural liquids in fruits and vegetables.
It also means I consume the only food that is not processed and hasn't come out of a factory to sit in stores for months. It's the only food created for us by nature that doesn't involve killing other beings.

The transition
Transitioning at first was challenging because I was still exposed to and even cooking other foods for my family.
Learning to eat the right amounts and adjusting my body was necessary since raw foods are much less dense than what we're used to eating.
During this transition phase, which took about a year, I read extensively to better understand why and how this diet is beneficial. I knew myself and I knew that if I wanted this lifestyle to last I need to go through the brain and deeply understand why it is so good for me.
Despite my physician’s strong warnings and advice against it, over time, my blood tests proved that this was the best gift I could give myself.
And the benefits are amazing and so worth it:
High Energy Levels: I have high amounts of energy all day long, since raw foods are very easy for the body to digest.
Improved Digestion: I no longer have constipation problems.
Smoother Skin: My skin is much smoother.
Optimal Weight: My body has adjusted to its optimal weight.
Muscle Mass: I can gain muscle mass easily. Yes, I get all the essential amino acids I need from fruits and vegetables without any processed food or powders, contrary to what the protein industry tries to sell us.
Overall Well-being: Most importantly, I feel really good.
This journey has been transformative, and I feel more aligned with nature and my own body than ever before. It also led me to make changes in all other areas of life, which I will share more about in future posts.
But most importantly, I learned to listen to myself and my intuition, even if it is completely the opposite of what society tells you.
